No More Excuses: Implementing Technology to Improve SUD Services

5th Annual NFAR Technology Summit

The goal of the 2017 NFAR Technology Summit is for attendees to gain usable skills and knowledge related to how technology can expand and enhance treatment and recovery services to improve client outcomes. Specifically, attendees will be able to:

• Explain the use of technology in advancing the treatment of opioid use disorders
• Address the ethical dilemmas related to using and prescribing new technologies
• Practice the use of technology-based mediums such as texting, video-conferencing, social media, and apps
• Plan for implementation of technology-based clinical supervision and services in their clinical settings
• Identify ways in which technology increases access to care and behavioral health workforce opportunities

Opening Reception

JOIN US Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
You won’t want to miss this year’s opening reception.  The 5th Annual NFAR Technology Summit is proud to introduce an interactive networking reception that will celebrate the legacy of the project while also highlighting local culture and the beauty of the Reno Tahoe region. Attendees will get the chance to participate in an interactive art display, enjoy local music, network with colleagues and sample light appetizers from one of the region’s top local catering companies.  Make a lasting memory and leave your legacy!


  • On-site registration/check-in will begin on Wednesday, July 26th from 4:00 -7:00 pm 

  • On Thursday, July 27th and Friday, July 28th check-in will begin at 7:30am each morning

  • The Summit will begin promptly at 8:30 am on Thursday, July 27th and Friday, July 28th

  • The Summit concludes at 3:00 pm Friday, July 28th

A group rate of $97.00 plus tax has been secured for this event. Please make your hotel reservation after you register for the Summit.  Instructions and the Group Code will be provided in your registration confirmation email.

The NFAR-ATTC will make room reservations for presenters and invited guests only.  General summit attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.

General summit attendees are responsible for all expenses incurred during this event, which includes, but not limited to, travel (driving or airfare), meals, parking, lodging, etc. Additionally, there is no registration fee for this event.

On - Site Details

Digital Certificates

Certificates will be available digitally to all registrants AFTER the conference. A message will be sent to the email address provided during registration with instructions regarding how to obtain your digital certificate.


Sign – in Requirements

Sign-in Requirements – Participants may use their participant certificate to apply for CEHs from other certification/licensing boards. Participants must sign in at the registration desk each morning in order to receive a CEH certificate. If a participant must leave the event early, certificate hours will be reduced.

Continuing Education

Participants can earn up to 12 free continuing education hours (CEHs).

  • Opening Reception = 1
  • Day 1 = 6.25
  • Day 2 = 4.75
  • Total = Approximately 12

CASAT has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6492. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. CASAT is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
